Teaching Aboriginal children: Milingimbi and beyond, presents perspectives on aspects of Aboriginal education. Chapters cover themes and topics which include Aboriginal manners and learning styles, life and discipline in Aboriginal classrooms, the teaching of maths and reading to Aboriginal children and bilingual/bicultural education. Although it focusses mainly on the experience of a talented and dedicated group of teachers in Arnhem Land in general and Milingimbi in particular, many of the articles are particulary useful for anyone who will be or is teaching in remote Aboriginal communites.
