'Sir Peter Paul Rubens was a Flemish artist and diplomat from the Duchy of Brabant in the Southern Netherlands. Rubens is considered the most influential artist of the Flemish Baroque tradition. Rubens's highly charged compositions reference erudite aspects of classical and Christian history.' [Wikipedia] Born: June 28, 1577, Siegen, Germany Died: May 30, 1640, Antwerp, Belgium Though Rubens' masterpieces include portraits and landscapes, Rubens is perhaps best known for his religious and mythological compositions. This publication will focus on Ruben and the many nude compositions completed over his career. To be clear, this is a collection of Ruben nudes with very little in terms of text or a discussion of merits or faults of the master. The pages are presented as a reference to his works with the sole focus of putting his nudes all in a single place and available for private viewing without the expense of travel or admissions. Yes Virginia there are nudes and they are the primary focus of this publication, very little to read, but a lot to observe and contemplate.
