
About the Author Edward E. Smith earned his Ph.D. from University of Michigan where he now is a Distinguished University Professor of Psychology. He has authored ten books and 150 research articles. His research focuses on semantic memory, working memory, and reasoning. For the past ten years he has been studying these topics using neuroimaging as well as behavioral techniques. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and has been awarded the highest research awards from both APA and APS. Earlier in his career, he taught the introductory psychology course at Stanford University, where he won an outstanding teaching award.
