Author Description

Ten lessons have students delve into topics such as medical research and disease control, the cultural background to the novel, author reliability, Lacks's life, Gr. Gey's research, Lacks's children, organ and tissue donors, and the book's structure and themes. Lessons emphasize the nature of nonfiction and ways it contrasts with fiction.
