The book traces the history of the Museums and illustrates the various collections - from the Vatican Picture Gallery to the Gallery of Geographical Maps, passing through the Gregorian Etruscan Museum, the Gregorian Egyptian Museum, and the collections of classical, historical and ethnological art, up to the Sistine Chapel.
