Author Description

This book presents science activities designed for young children. The activities are divided into the following the content areas of chemistry, physics, earth explorations, weather watchers, flight and space, plants, animal adventures, and mathworks. Each activity features sections of language with science, required items, procedures, and extended procedures providing ideas to expand the activity. Chapters include: (1) "Color, Crystals, and Creations"; (2) "How Things Work"; (3) "Digging in the Dirt"; (4) "How Hot, How Cold, How Windy, How Wet"; (5) "Aerial Acrobatics"; (6) "Roots and Shoots"; (7) "Houses for Snugs, Hideouts for Hamsters"; (8) "How Much, How Far, How Many"; and (9) "Hodge Podge."
