
The SPICE text accomplishes the goal that was established at its inception: to develop a viable alternative to the traditional high school chemistry program which allows students of varying abilities to be successful. To increase the understanding of mathematics as it pertains to chemistry, a problem-solving technique called dimensional analysis is included in the student text. Rather than memorizing formulas, unit analysis helps the student understand how to set up problems.
