Author Description

A publication of the IIA's first conference on Artificial Intelligence is evidence that AI is moving out of the lab and into industry. Conferences such as this are important because AI is becoming relevant to a much wider circle of people beyond the researchers, software engineers and domain experts who are at the heart of this technology. Like other technologies which have begun in the lab, AI must be assimilated and transformed by people in organizations before it can be widely useful. This publication includes papers from twelve presenters active in the field.
