
What kind of employees do you want? If you ask any other employer they will want someone who holds good qualities like punctual, loyal, self-starting and enjoys providing good service. Very few to no employers will say they want someone who is rude, dishonest and hates being forced to gain a wage through work. However, in many cases the qualities described are all circumstantial. They can be demonstrated, emulated and fostered through consistent education. Even the most rude of individuals can find a way to be successful in a classroom when the environment is safe and meets their needs. It is really easy for you to blame your employees if a job is not being done exactly how you would like it to be do≠ and why shouldn't you? You hired them to complete a job and if they do not do it well then they need to figure it out. Right? Many take this mindset and it is a shame. An employee is an investment, especially if terminating that investment means giving a severance package. Just like a novice can potentially perform the same movements as a skilled and trained athlete and dancer so can new hires perform the same basic tasks you might have in your job description. Obviously, a trained dancer has developed even the smallest muscles to be able to move with the complexity of the body. Would you drop an experienced basketball player from your professional team to pick up someone off the street that started ten minutes ago because you think they will pick it up just as well for less money? Of course not! So you could apply, rinse and repeat through each employee every year or so if you wanted to, or you could invest in them using a good training curriculum.
