The book theorizes various aspects of the problematic of cultural difference, multiplicity and diversity as it has been understood in modernity. It focuses on today's turn from multiculturalism as a neoliberal ideology to transculturation and other alter-modern paradigms that offer a critique of the rhetoric of modernity with its hidden logic of coloniality and strive to delink from it by means of a pluritopic hermeneutic and critical cosmopolitanism.
