Not illustrated. 1826 Excerpt:... officers of customs or excise, at the port of exportation he shall forfeit.£20.; the said officer shall take an account of the kinds and quantities of the commodities packed, and make a return thereof, which is termed the packing certificate, to the officer appointed to receive the same at the port of exportation.--Sec. 12. Exportation Bond and Affidavit. The exporter shall before shipping make application in writing to the surveyors or other officers of excise, at the port of exportation, specifying the quantity and quality of the goods, the name of the ship and captain, and to what place bound, and shall forthwith give security by bond in treble the value of the duty to be drawn back, for the due shipment and exportation of all and every part of such commodities; and the exporter or his clerk shall at the same time make affidavit that he believes the duty on such goods has been fully paid, and that they are the same as mentioned in the packing certificate.--25 Geo. III. cap. 74. sec. 13. On the exportation of beer and cyder, no bond is required. Skipping. The exporter shall give six hours' notice to the proper officer of excise, of the time and place of shipping the commodities, in which he shall state, the number of packages to be shipped, with the marks, numbers, and the quality of the goods in each package, rate and amount of duty paid thereon, also the drawback claimed, and the value of the goods for home use, and shall also specify the quay or place where such packages are lying, and the time of shipment, the name of the ship in which they are to be exported, of the master thereof, and of the port or place to which the goods are to be exported, and in what dock or place such vessel shall then lie.--56 Geo.
