The Brahma Sutra explores the ultimate reality according to Vedanta philosophy. It is a text where all revealed scriptures, like the Upanishads, maintain their consistency and alignment. Prominent gurus of the past, such as Shankara, Ramanuja, Nimbarka, Vallabha, and others, have written commentaries on it to present their perspectives on reality.<br/><br/>It outlines the complete journey of an embodied soul, covering its birth, sustenance, death, and afterlife. The Brahma Sutra defines the highest goal of an embodied soul as liberation, explaining how the soul falls into bondage and what means can lead to its freedom.<br/><br/>This text is interpreted through Shankara's Advaita (non-duality), where the embodied soul is considered identical to the Supreme Soul after liberation. Additionally, the perceived difference between the two souls in the material world is not real, as it does not withstand the tests of evidence. The most authoritative forms of evidence are self-realization, the Upanishads, and the statements of liberated individuals.
