When Fergus McKenzie found Clancy Lindhurst leaning perilously over the parapet of a bridge, he naturally thought the worst. Cold, wet and suffering from the flu, Clancy found it hard to explain that she was really throwing away her engagement ring, because her fiance had cheated on her. Back at Fergus's hotel, warm, dry and composed again, Clancy regaled her story. By the time she'd finished, Fergus's respect, not to mention his attraction for Clancy had escalated.
