Author Description

This book documents Catherine Cajandig's love and interest in community murals. She started doing murals in 1958 and has continued her work through 2023. Cajandig traveled to Mexico in 1958 to study the work of the Los Tres Grande artists and then came back to Chicago to work on community murals with the Chicago Public Art Group. She taught at Whitney Young High School in Chicago for many years.
