Excerpt from Fats and Oils Situation, Vol. 224: August 1964 <p>Trade sources estimate the total U. S. Soybean crushing capacity to be 585 million bushel per annum, including capacities of new plants. Based on this estimate, the soybean industry operated at only about three-fourths of capacity during the 1963-64 processing season. Soybean processors have been expanding their mill facilities along with the growth in the U. S.
