Towards the end of the 20th Century, the Indian sub-continent witnessed a period of transition. Peace and cordial relations gave way to mistrust, turbulence and disharmony, leaving life and love gasping for breath. The story is of two friends who grew up in Lucknow, a city of cultural harmony and romance, and then they move out in pursuit of their respective vocations.While they were still struggling to develop their careers, bilateral relations with the neighbouring country gave up all pretensions of friendship or cordiality and rapidly sank to a low abyss. As a result, one of the friend becomes a victim of indiscriminate action and the other lost his lady love due to the hostilities generated by bilateral differences intermixed with communal alienation.How the survivors come to terms with their shattered lives, as depicted in the novel, is characteristic of the survival of mankind after catastrophes.The narration incorporates the once existent ethos of the city of Lucknpw and the scenic beauty of picturesque Goa.ABOUT THE AUTHORSyed Rizwan did a major part of his schooling from La Martiniere College, Lucknow and then completed Masters in Western History from Lucknow University. After a long stint in self-enterprise, he took to writing as a profession in 2010. Initially he did translation assignments and then graduated to writing short stories, articles and blogs for magazines and websites. 'Till Break of Dawn' is his first full-fledged novel and while it is being published, he is working on his next story which will be fiction spanning ninety years of strife and struggle in the history of India.
