Climate change presents an existential threat, particularly for developing countries. While technological advancements offer solutions, a sole focus on technical fixes misses the mark. This essay argues that effective climate adaptation in developing countries necessitates addressing the socio-political dimensions of vulnerability. The Allure of Technical Fixes The urgency of climate action often leads to a focus on technical solutions like seawalls, drought-resistant crops, and renewable energy. These advancements play a crucial role, but they can be expensive, have unintended consequences, and fail to consider the social context.
