Multilingual edition in Polish and English.<br/><br/>Julian Fałat (1853–1929) – an artist of the Young Poland movement, representative of landscape and genre painting. Graduate of the School of Fine Arts in Kraków and the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. Between 1886–1895, employed as a teacher at the court of Emperor Wilhelm II, then the headmaster and rector of the School of Fine Arts in Kraków. At first, his paintings followed Realism, providing an in-depth insight into everyday life, the religiousness of peasants, and hunting scenes. Then, Fałat’s art steered towards Impressionism and the related spontaneity of creation, which was reflected in his landscape paintings. His famous works include, e.g. Kraków in the Morning (1897), Winter Landscape (1891) and Landscape from Bystra (1919).<br/><br/>Julian Fałat (1853–1929) artysta młodopolski, przedstawiciel malarstwa pejzażowego i rodzajowego. Absolwent krakowskiej Szkoły Sztuk Pięknych oraz Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Monachium. W latach 1886–1895 był zatrudniony nadworze cesarza Wilhelma II, po czym został dyrektorem a następnie rektorem wspomnianej SSP w Krakowie. Początkowo jego obrazy cechował realizm, szczegółowo przedstawiał życie codzienne, religijność chłopów, sceny z polowań. Później twórczość Fałata bardziej skłaniała sie ku wpływom impresjonizmu i związanej z nim spontaniczności tworzenia, czemu dał wyraz w malarstwie pejzażowym. Do znanych dzieł artysty należą m.in. „Kraków rankiem” (1897), „Krajobraz zimowy” (1891) czy „Pejzaż z Bystrej” (1919).
