Angela was born in The Bronx, of Hispanic parentage. Angela falls in love with Vinnie an Italian Jewish boy the best quarter back in high school who she nurses back to health after a football accident a night of passion in a hospital room leads to pregnancy. Angela's father when he finds out Angela is pregnant he throws her out onto the streets aged sixteen, Vinnie's parents take Angel in. Vinnie discovers his football career is ruined after he goes for his six month check up, his financial outlook is bleak. Angela meets Nicky in Maria's Cafe who has learned about the troubled couples financial issues he offers Angela his business card. Vinnie is offered a job as an accountant with a hired driver paid for by the company, during a night at the office Vinnie finds some documents which links his boss to the Mafia.
