The forms of synesthesia that emerge from, or are expressed by, the auditory invoke the Romantic intuition of a musicalized universe. Building on renewed foundations, we are led to insist, just like Herder, that "Nature, seen and felt, resonates.... We become, so to speak, hearing through all our senses."
