A short story about Native American Indians as they begin to develop a written language post-Revolutionary War. Twelve long years of hard work by a young Cherokee named Sequoyah – assisted by his daughter Ah-yoka – will eventually lead to this significant event in the lives of the Cherokee people. This is Book No. 13a in the Waterford Institute Read-Along series.
