Author Description

The first collection of full-length plays by writers from the British East Asian community. The plays explore subjects such as Asian stereotypes, traditions such as foot-binding, Chinese communities, invisibility and discrimination. To include a foreword by Kumiko Mendl of Yellow Earth Theatre and an introduction to explore the recent history of theatre from the BEA community and the 'yellowface' campaign to prevent white actors from portraying Asian characters in the media.
