
The move to an 'outcomes-based' education presents South African educators with a challenge significant enough to be called a 'paradigm-shift'. Understandably this shift has led to fear and some anger in educational institutions country-wide as educators grapple with the implications that this shift holds for their lives and work. This Reader - which forms part of a mixed-media module comprising a Learning Guide, Reader, and audio- and videotape - attempts to highlight the defining features of this new paradigm and explore how this paradigm shift is likely to impact on educators as they go about their everyday work of curriculum-making, teaching, and assessing.
