In this Public Health Yearbook 2011 the authors will touch upon several topics like health risk communication, translational research, primary care, AIDS, tuberculosis, smoking, alcohol and drug screening and finally in the last section discuss primary health care development. Health risk communication deals with planned or unplanned communication to the public about the nature, impact and management of a wide array of health threats, such as cancer, HIV/AIDS or influenza pandemics. Current important research questions are raised and this book provides several comprehensive up-to-date reviews on important public health areas. World-wide partnerships, collaborations and communications between professionals and society so that new kinds of knowledge and knowledge networks can be developed.
