Rhodesia in the early fifties...A black child is adopted by a white farming couple. Given every opportunity to take his place in a changing world, Sam Makhatini grows up to be a highly respected tracker in the Selous Scouts. He saves the life of a fellow soldier and a lifelong bond is formed. He follows the man to Kenya where they establish a game conservation farm called "Olowaru". When tragedy strikes, Sam inherits the game farm and continues with the conservation work that has made Olowaru famous throughout Africa. Beneath the facade of a bush paradise, Olowaru holds a dark secret that invokes sinister actions from ruthless men who will stop at nothing to take the farm from Sam. He fights for his rights, for the protection of Olowaru and its people. How far can one man be pushed before he takes the law into his own hands... The story gives insight into ancient tribal beliefs, high flying wheeling and dealing and the horrendous acts of poaching that still plague the country.
