The first phase of Pequenas epifanias (Small epiphanies) was published in the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo between 1986 and 1989. In the book, his writing becomes more visceral, more tied to the phenomena of life and death. Caio was willing to make the chronicle a narrative. They're explicitly autobiographical and noisily literary chronicles.
