About the Author Dr. Vishali Gupta is a Professor of Ophthalmology in the Retina and Uveitis Services of Advanced Eye Center, Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, India. She runs a busy uveitis clinic, where nearly 300 uveitis patients are examined per week. Her research interests include addressing the diagnostic challenges involving intraocular tuberculosis, application of molecular biology techniques to diagnose intraocular tuberculosis, describing the phenotypic expression of the disease and the management strategies. Dr. Gupta has over 194 indexed publications and authored more than 76 chapters and 3 books. She is a much sought-after international speaker and delivered several keynote lectures. Dr. Gupta is currently the Vice President of the Uveitis Society of India and the Principal Investigator of the Collaborative Ocular Tuberculosis Study Group (COTS) with over 25 international centers participating in the study. Dr. Quan Dong Nguyen, M.D., M.Sc., FAAO Born in Saigon, Vietnam, and immigrated to the United States in 1980, Dr. Quan Dong Nguyen is a Professor of Ophthalmology at the Byers Eye Institute, Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. Nguyen received his baccalaureate from the Phillips Exeter Academy and his bachelor and master of science degrees simultaneously in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry from Yale University. Subsequently, he earned his medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania.He completed an internship in Internal Medicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital and a residency in Ophthalmology at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School.
