Twelve lessons have students analyze characters, motivations, and consequences; focus on the interweaving of multiple plots, as well as recognize fairy tale elements; examine comic devices and stage conventions; study the portrayal of Shylock over the centuries; and use speechwriting to express ideas from the play.
