Originally published in French (Paris: Editions Exilis, 2017), the volume compiles political writings, artistic manifests and work notes written throughout his career, which allow first-hand knowledge of Le Parc's thinking. Julio Le Parc is one of the last representatives of this group of artists that we have gathered under the convenient terms of kinetic art or op art. Today, Julio Le Parc, who never stops inventing, wanted to collect all the texts he wrote during his long career. Political texts, manifest texts, often funny, or simple working notes, this beautiful book brings together nearly 60 years of research, commitment and various friendships. And to illustrate these fights and this creative profusion, the book also contains 400 illustrations, in black and white and in colors, with in particular some unpublished drawings where another of Le Parc's many talents is expressed, the caricature.
