Catalogue featuring art works produced since 1919 by Victor Brecheret (Italy 1894-Brazil 1955), one of the main exponents of modernism, and member of the historic "Semana de 22." The catalogue and the exhibition included 54 works, (sculptures, paintings and drawings) by Brecheretand of other noted names who took part in the exhibition "Semana de Arte Moderna" at the Theatro Municipal in São Paulo in 1922: Anita Malfatti, Di Cavalcanti, Menotti del Picchia, John Graz, Vicente do Rego Monteiro, Helios Seelinger and Zina Ait. The edition includes 41 rare works of Brecheret: 21 sculptures in bronze, marble, 3 in terracotta, one in stone, and two of the emblematic series with incisions on the rocks rolled by sea, as well as a set of 12 ink drawings, in addition to three historical publications: the Livro de Horas de Soror Dolorosa "A que morreu de amor" (1920), the poetry book by Guilherme de Almeida that inspired the sculpture exposed by Brecheret in Semana de 1922; the cover of the album of prints of Di Cavalcanti "Os fantoches da meia-noite" (1922); and the poetry book "As máscaras" (1920), with poems by Menotti del Picchia illustrated by J. Prado (1920). After all, in spite of the artist's importance, his oeuvre has still not attained its due recognition among the Rio de Janeiro public, and to see it still so powerfull and seconded by key pieces by other inescapable names in Brazilian modernism-, is indeed something to celebrate" --Page 109.
