This handlist has been drawn up with a view to helping the Masonic student by enumerating, in a fashion convenient for reference, certain of the documents most commonly required in tracing the rise and development of Freemasonry. Includes sources, which count as primary evidence as to matters of fact or belief in the period of their composition, and writings which are, or should be, based upon the primary sources, but are authoritative only in a secondary sense, and in the degree to which their authors have thoroughly an correctly understood and assessed their materials.
