This is a textbook that seeks to link modern neuroscience and psychiatry. The first part of the book focuses on the links between modern brain research and social work, education, health care, and psychological theories and methods. The second part focuses on actual clinical psychological and psychiatric conditions. The book takes an interdisciplinary approach to such issues as diagnosis, placebos, social intelligence, personality, mirror neurons, holistic health, brain plasticity, ADHD, and personality disorders.
