Not illustrated. 1916 Excerpt:...In 1918 the University of Minnesota will celebrate its semi-centennial. It would be a most fitting part of such a celebration to issue in the name of the University a series of substantial and scholarly volumes to be grouped together as the Semi-Centennial Publications of the University of Minnesota. These might be published by the University on its own funds, or by the arrangement of a guarantee by the Alumni, I am sure that any standard publishing house would undertake their printing and circulation. It is none too early to begin at once the planning of such a series and finding out what members of our faculty have undertakings of some compass and scholarly promise under way which they might bring to completion by 1518 for inclusion in the Semi-Centennial Series.
