From Library Journal This first volume in what will be an annual series is a collection of interviews aired during the past year on National Public Radio (NPR) and edited by one of the hosts of NPR's All Things Considered. The interviews cover topics ranging from Bosnia (termed the "story of the year"), to Supreme Court Justice Harry Blackmun's thoughts on his years on the court, to performance artist Carol Vaughn's account of tap dancing down the 897 stairs of the Washington Monument. Many of those interviewed have accomplished much in their lives, but others are just interesting people. The interviewers are professional and sometimes ask very probing questions. Hearing the interviews might be best, but reading them is a close second. Recommended for public libraries.Rebecca Wondriska, Trinity Coll.
