Collins Big Cat is a guided reading series for ages 47 edited by Cliff Moon. Top childrens authors and illustrators have created fiction and non-fiction books that your children will love to read, banded to help you choose the right book for every child. Practical teaching notes are included at the back of each book.This evaluation pack introduces you to all the books for early readers, from Yellow (Band 3) books to Green (Band 5).The pack contains single copies of each book thats 14 fiction and 14 non-fiction books, 16 24 pages long and illustrated in full colour. Some of the authors included are listed at the end of this section.The pack also includes an additional 5 copies of one selected book so that you can try using Collins Big Cat with a reading group right away.There is also a copy of the Assessment and Resource Guide for Yellow-Green, an interactive sample CD-Rom and a course guide.The Year 1 Evaluation Pack authors include: Percy the Park Keeper author Nick Butterworth, with two Percy stories and a non-fiction book about the author himself Award-winning author of The Gruffalo, Julia Donaldson, with a play especially written for Collins Big Cat BBC Big Cat Diaries presenter and photographer Jonathan Scott, who tells us about three different big cat babies Multi-awardwinning author Martin Waddell, creator of the much-loved Little Bear series, with a wonderfully rhythmic version of a well-known tale, and the tale of an unusual visitor.
