The fiftieth annual forum of the Linguistic Association of Canada and the United States was hosted by the University of Waterloo and St. Jerome’s University from July 17 to July 19, 2024, in 4 Waterloo, Ontario. The local organizer (Svetlana Kaminskaïa, French Studies) thanks St. Jerome’s 5 University and the Department of French Studies for their generosity and help in welcoming participants from different parts of the world, both in person and online.<br/>The forum’s theme, “Languages Without Borders,” invited papers that examine the role of language in shaping identities, influencing social dynamics, facilitating learning, creativity, and collaboration. Besides the keynote addresses, over 30 regular presentations were given at the conference. This volume includes papers selected for publication among the submitted ones after review by at least two anonymous reviewers.
