The second edition of this acclaimed text has been completely rewritten and greatly expanded to incorporate the many advances that have been made in recent years. The book contains precise anatomical drawings and illustrations in full-color throughout, and also provides detailed instructions on how to apply local anaesthesia. <p><p>Practically oriented, the book could almost be taken to the operating room and used as a guide. It covers anatomy, indications, contraindications, dosages, explanations of individual drugs, as well as complications, caveats, and potential adverse side effects, and how to avoid them or treat them.<p><p>Each procedure is explained step-by-step using numerous full-colour illustrations and photographs. For each procedure, a specific form (record and checklist) is provided for recording the individual treatment steps. The authors present both familiar and new therapeutic techniques for both the treatment of pain and regional nerve blocks during surgery.
