This book tells the story of the friendship of Tikul with a winkle. The boy is seized by endless sadness. He thinks he will never be able to sing as beautifully as the rhythmic waves of the sea as they break on the shore. Despite his attempts, he cannot clear his voice with either cough medicine or honey and lemon. As proof of his trust, Tikul tells the winkle of his secret desire to sing. The winkle listens with his small, lively eyes as he moves his little antennae. Tikul’s noble character makes him take the winkle grass, fleas and worms everyday. One day, when Tikul dives in the sea to visit his friend, he hears the lullabies the sea cows sing to their newly born babies. This makes him want to sing even more and so he decides to ask his friend for help. And, as true friendship knows no bounds, the generosity of the winkle makes his human friend happy.
