In this book, G. Burton presents a series of modern frontier tales. If the 1970s can be considered modern, that is. He has taken a number of classic frontier themes-a search for a lost gold mine, the story of a showdown and shootout, and others-and then attempted to weave them into a collection of stories based upon experiences from his own youthful days spent rummaging amongst the ruins of that former frontier. Whether panning for gold in the Yukon Territory or wandering the West, he always seems to have kept his eyes and ears open for a good adventure, or at least for a story.
