Author Description

The present edition of the Mandi State Gazetter was compiled by Mr. Emerson, I.C.S, late Settlement Officer and Superintendent. Others who have contributed to this book are: Dr. Hutchinson and Dr. Vogel in the section dealing with the political history of the State; Dr. Vogel and Pandit Hira Nand Shastri in the preparation of notes on Archaeology; Mr. G.C.L. Howell, C.S., in preparing an account of the fisheries; and Mr. H.L. Wright, I.F.S., in the sections on the flora, fauna and forests. Lala Sri Gopal, Sub-Divisional Officer, furnished historical data to the authors of the political history, and in addition collected material of general interest.
