
About the Author Lucia Yiu, RN, BScN, BA (Psychology, Windsor), BSc (Physiology, Toronto), MScN (Administration, Western Ontario), is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Nursing, University of Windsor, and an Educational and Training Consultant in community nursing. She has published on family and public health nursing. Her practice and research interests include multicultural health, international health, experiential learning, community development, breast health, and program planning and evaluation. She has worked overseas and served on various community and social services committees involving local and district health planning. Lynnette Leeseberg Stamler is Professor and Graduate Chair at the College of Nursing, University of Saskatchewan. She is also President Elect of the Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing. She holds degrees from St. Olaf College, the University of Manitoba, and the University of Cincinnati. She has an eclectic clinical background, with experience in surgery, medicine, ICU, rehabilitation, and long-term care, as well as four years as a VON nurse. For the last 25 years, she has taught in basic and graduate nursing programs. With Lucia Yiu, she co-edited Community Health Nursing: A Canadian Perspective. The second edition was released in December 2007. Her research interests are all related to leadership in education–in the patient, nursing, and health education arenas. Madeleine Buck is a faculty member at the McGill University School of Nursing and a clinical associate at the McGill University Health Centre. Her 30-year career in nursing has provided her with opportunities to work in acute care, community health, and educational settings. Her most recent experiences are with undergraduate and graduate nursing education, use of simulated learning in clinical education, program evaluation and accreditation, and interprofessional education.
