In reforestation, knowledge of the height growth performance of young stands within well-defined ecosystem units is of considerable interest. Experimental Project 368 of the British Columbia Ministry of Forests and Lands provides a unique opportunity to compare the juvenile height growth Douglas-fir, grand fir, amabilis fir, Port-Orford cedar, Sitka spruce, western hemlock, and western redcedar on a moist and nutrient-medium site within the Hypermaritime Coastal Western Hemolock subzone on the west coast of Vancouver Island.
