The Act On It Get Out monologues can be used by drama teachers or non-specialists. The book contains six original monologues and Top Tips for wraparound activities. There are also notes on how we devised monologues with young people in a remote and socially distanced world. Key Stage 3 and 4 Drama students can use the mini-monologues and other activities to prepare for NEA (non-examined assessment) components of KS4 Drama and Performing Arts qualification. The mini-monologues make great audition speeches too. They were created during creative conversations between Act On It and marginalised young people that took place during the Covid-19 lockdown. They explore the real thoughts and experiences of young people who have been excluded from school. Get out was supported by public funding from Arts Council England. Buying this book supports Act On It's on-going pioneering work with marginalised groups. Act On It is a social enterprise that uses drama-based activity to build skills and knowledge and to improve the social inclusion and well-being of the people that take part in our work.
