A collection of folk dance melodies from the Jalasjärvi area of Western Finland, in the Ostrobothnia region, recorded and notated between 1907 and 1974 by four ethnomusicologists (Eino Levón, Erkki Ala-Könni, Aatos Alanko, and Pekka Rautanen). The melodies were played on either the violin (viulu) or the accordion (hanuri). The book is divided into sections by dance form. Each page gives the musician's name, the year collected, and the instrument in the upper right corner. The musicians are listed in a section before the melodies.
