“My sad is sadder than yours” is a collection of artworks by Ala Ilescu. It was inspired by poetry about suffering and healing. This book was conceived as a work of art. The design and the structure combine watercolor paintings and poetry. The book was created to communicate a message, to impose reflection on the subject matter. “My sad is sadder than yours” is about different kind of suffering: mental health struggles, grief, childhood trauma, domestic violence and more. In order to enjoy life we have to let go of the past. Let the wounds heal. The main message of this book is " you are not alone, if you relate to any of these struggles, then you can heal too".
