Based on extensive original research, this book tells the story of the development of Finland's shipbuilding industry with a focus on the technologically sophisticated vessels built there since the Second World War. The Finnish shipyards' development of unique expertise in building icebreakers, large ferries and cruise ships is explained, and their relationship with the Soviet Union in investigated.
