When Fletcher realized Moses Fritz had gotten away on a prisoner ship bound for Australia, he then found out that the prisoner ship had sunk, all hands lost. He booked a ship back to America and was boarded already when Detective Sergeant Louis Copeland saw an article in the Times, asserting that before the ship sunk, it had unloaded all prisoners and they had boarded a train for the prisons. Copeland rode hard for the ship, which was taking Fletcher back to America, and caught him. Together they made it to Australia and with the help of police there began their search. When the prisoners raided Yankee Jim’s Creek, a gold mining town, it was their first break in the case. They went there, and Fletcher devised a trick to catch Moses. The plan only gleaned a third of the prisoners, but Fletcher was undaunted. Then, in the middle of the night, Moses Fritz sent men to drag Fletcher back to his camp. Will Fletcher be able to withstand the torturing he gets? Will Copeland and a platoon of British soldiers get there in time to save the U.S. Marshal? Join U. S. Marshal Fletcher as he gets in way too deep and may end up being the one to pay the ultimate price for his extreme views concerning the men that wiped out his family in Bandera, Texas.
