Nepalese society represents a unique combination of people of different origins who have come here from different directions at different periods of history and have blended into one national identity despite their exclusive habits and social peculiarities. Nepal has become a great storehouse of the primitive ethnic communities of the world. Their style of life, sacraments, house-types and attitudes are quite peculiar and illustrative. That is why; Nepal is described as a paradise by the social anthropologists studying the culture and activities of the people. Communities, different in their social customs and traditions as well as psychological make-up, are living here since time immemorial. The author attempted to throws light on Brahmanic tradition prevalent in the country as well as the deities worshipped belonging to this faith. It also deals with Buddhism and the deities related to this tradition. An attempt is also done to highlight the Siddha tradition of Buddhism and its impact on the Nepali society. The author has tried his best to present the artistic features of Nepal specially the paintings and wood-carvings. This book has 26 col, and 26 B/W illustrations.
