Jason Carter is a 16-year-old demigod in Boston who thought he was an ordinary boy. Life takes an unexpected turn when he is attacked by his favorite teacher on his way to school. Jason discovers that his estranged father is Hephaestus, the Greek god of fire. Jason, his sister Emma, and three other classmates, Caleb, Trevor, and Alex are sent on a quest to defeat Ares, the Greek god of war, and his evil plan to take over Olympus. On the quest, Jason and his companions must work together to defeat monsters, outsmart King Midas from turning them into gold, and face giants trying to squash them like a bug. Will the five demigods defeat Ares's army led by Nemesis, the goddess of revenge, before the Doors of Death are opened?
