We go through much of life anticipating, believing, and striving for something we hope to accomplish or obtain. We try our best and give our all, but often, we get discouraged when we encounter unexpected outcomes. Where once was hope, now is disappointment. When we are trying to conceive, this emotional dissonance is no different. You have believed, you have declared, you have prayed, you have sown, but month after month, you don’t have what you desire most. A baby. Then, the following month, you find yourself wanting to be hopeful but not wanting to get your hopes up too high lest they come crashing down again. These emotions, dear friends, are much of what I experienced throughout my conception journey. If you find yourself still reading this description, it is likely a similar experience for you or someone you love, too. In this devotional, we will venture through the peaks and valleys of the often long, emotional road to conception. Finally, we will understand that relinquishing the control we all desire to the One who can be trusted with the outcomes of our lives and life circumstances will bring the peace and understanding we crave. Instead of trying to conceive over and over again, we will begin trusting to conceive, once and for all.
